Local school officials are taking a wait-and-see attitude regarding President Donald Trump’s executive order last month directing new Department of Education Secretary Linda McMahon to begin dismantling the agency.
“It’s honestly too early to tell,” RE-5J Superintendent Scott Nielsen said. “So far it hasn’t gone away and the only way it could is by congressional action. But yes, there is a lot up in the air.”
